2010 T-Top Camaro Now Available from DropTop Customs

Just the Facts:
•Drop Top Customs will bring a Chevrolet Camaro with T-tops to the 2010 SEMA show next month.
•The conversion can be made to any fifth generation Camaro.
•Production starts in mid-November of this year.

HIGH SPRINGS, Florida — Drop Top Customs, the same Florida-based custom car builder that offers a convertible conversion for the Chevrolet Camaro, has unveiled a new T-top conversion for the fifth-generation Camaro. It will be shown for the first time at the 2010 SEMA show in November.

According to Company President Jeff Moran, “The installation utilizes our exclusive convertible understructure reinforcement. Most of these T-top Camaros will come supercharged, so there is no need for concern when you want to let your pony run.”

The conversion will cost $6,500 and production starts in mid-November. Drop Top Customs is the custom car arm of Convertible Builders LLC, which has been building conversions since 1976. Its convertible conversion for the Camaro debuted at last year’s SEMA show.

Inside Line says: Hard to believe it took this long for somebody to build a fifth-generation T-top Camaro. And as far as we can tell, they did a pretty good job. — Kelly Toepke, News Editor

Jalopnik featured our good friends at Drop Top Customs today in an article about the new Chevrolet Camaro’s conspicuous lack of a T-Top option. As the article states, “They’re ridiculous and sorta vulgar and they leak and rattle, but they’re so damn cool.”

We couldn’t agree more and we’re are happy to see the guys at Drop Top Customs getting the press they deserve for their noble work. They specialize in turning hardtop vehicles into convertibles. Looks like they can add T-Top to their growing list of specialties.

2010 Camaro With T-Tops or is it a Trans Am?

We started prototyping the T-tops and should be finished next week as in July 16th. We will have several versions at Sema this year. It will be available in Glass and special limited edition carbon fiber. This isn’t just cutting the roof out. All T-Top cars come with the same understructure support we currently use in the convertible. So go ahead and add a supercharger. You know you want one!
